Few weekend events

We have a busy weekend at NMHSSN. Tonight we are headed to Volcano Vista High School to check out their Hawks Football Clinic. Tomorrow, we're visiting Sandia HS to check out their Youth Football Camp. It is great to see the players and coaching staffs giving their time and energy for the young kids to learn about football. Tomorrow we're going to watch a little volleyball at Del Norte HS.

We published our article on Coach Bill Godsil of Gallup High School. Coach Godsil arrived in Gallup on June 1st from Miami, AZ and is enthusiastic about the potential at Gallup HS.

Finally, we interviewed Sandia HS girls basketball coach Susan Kubala. We really enjoyed our visit with the veteran coach who talked about everything from Rocky Long to Abraham Lincoln! We'll publish our interview as we get closer to basketball season.

For now, c'est tous!

A day of football at Rio Rancho High School

We enjoyed our day of football today at Rio Rancho High. We spent most of the day watching the 7 on 7 passing tourney and meeting coaches we haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet. I certainly can't claim to be any type of talent evaluator, but those who caught my eye were WR Collin Knee of La Cueva who seem to catch any ball within five yards of him, RB James Morehead of Sandia who looked super fast, LB Seth McVey of Sandia was looked intense, and lastly LB Omar Luna of Bernalillo who really looked like a leader on and off the field. Again, I am NO talent evaluator!
The day ended with attending the A/AA North vs South All Star game which the South dominated 34-7! Check our website for details of the game.

I look forward to more 7 on 7 passing tomorrow but more importantly, watching the big men of the O Line battle it out in the Lineman Challenge!

Only one month till two-a-days for football teams across the state!

NM HS Coaches Association 7 on 7 Passing Tourney

We just posted more details about the NM High School Coaches Association 7 on 7 Passing Tournament and Lineman Challenge. This will be the first 7 on 7 tourney we attend since the website has been live. There will be over 20 schools from across the state that will be taking part in the tournament. We look forward to seeing some footballs flying around, even if the players aren't wearing pads. Check out the football home page of our website for more info.
